this morn i accidentally let a lil bit of light hit my plants when they were on 12 dark. will this hurt them? it was just a few minutes!

On my first grow I used to get so impatient I'd just open the chamber to have a look and take a smell even when they were supposed to be flowering. Still got results, crap results, but it was due to everything else. Doesn't really do too much harm.

As noted above a short break in light schedule won't hurt.. It usually causes problems (or as I have read) earlier in flowering, but not so much near the end.
