sorry for posting multiple separate questions.
i have a theory hopefully someone can correct, but i was thinking to mix potting soil and vermiculite 50/50 for my seedlings this time, last time was just dirt and it caked thick and stayed moist and the plants had slow growth. would the mix of good oxygen flow/moisture/and Nitrogen solution help a plant reach further into its potential?

A soiless mix of 1 part peat, 1 part verm, and 1 part perlite is great. Retains moisture, drains well, and is inert. It will get good oxygen with that mix. You may need to adjust the pH a bit. That's an easy fix with dolomitic lime.
Either I misunderstand you or you have falsely assumed nitrogen is the big plant fix. While large amounts of N are used during the veg stage, a full nutrient regimen is necessary for strong, large, disease resistant plants.
