Soil.
    #219787 -

Hi,

I'm a soil ("soilless") grower and had a few questions.

I will have plenty of excess spent cubensis substrate here soon. It has been fully colonized and fruited, then flushed 3 times. Could I incorporate it into my organic soil mix?
It is made of: Horse manure, worm castings, coco coir, gypsum, lime, diatemaceous earth, blood meal, vegetable oil, and timothy hay.

If not, would it be possible to add in diatemaceous earth to the traditional peat/worm castings/blood meal/bone meal mix? Or would the DE be harmful to the roots?

the DE shouldn't hurt your plants, although I've never seen anyone mix it into their soil.  It's most common use in cannabis cultivation is as a fungus gnat cure.  People sprinkle it on the top soil layer and let it do it's magic.

Thanks. I just kind of want to use it as a preventative maintenence thing like I do in mycology.

What about using the spent mushroom substrate? I was thinking maybe letting it dry up then crumble it out and mix it in with some peat or coir or something.
