A booster fan is not a good idea if you are going to use a scrubber. You are going to work it to death and they just don't have that much ass to pull air. Get an inline fan.
Booster fans are meant to be put in long lengths of ducting. It improves airflow. I will say that I used a 56cfm booster in my old grow. I never used a scrubber. Odor gels worked fine. Well, they worked good enough anyway.
