This thread is for voicing those unspoken rules of smoking etiquette.
Where I live:
- Pass the bowl to the left, or to the person who put the second most weed into it.
- Never leave smoke in the chamber of the bong (this is known as "Kids in the Pool"). Along the same lines, don't take so large a hit that you can't clear the bong.
- Always always always change the bongwater at least every day, and more often if it needs it. When an opaque layer of resin forms on the sides of the bong, it's time to clean it with rubbing alcohol and salt. Basically, keep your pieces clean. People don't want to smoke out of dirty glass (or they shouldn't).
- The person who rolls the joint (or blunt) gets to spark it, then passes to the person who threw in the most weed.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. What are the unpoken rules of smoking where you live?

Which direction you pass it to is not so important.
What is important is that the person currently holding it doesn't idle and blab or stare into space while others are waiting.

I agree it's important for the bowl not to idle, but I think direction is important too. I got curious and decided to do some tests a while back. Every once in a while, I'd spark a bowl, passing it to the right. Inevitably, withing 1 or 2 rotations, it starts getting passed left and the rotation gets all fucked up. That's the power of habit, I guess.

I am not really a social smoker, so I don't participate in this group smoke outs very often. But a rule that should definitely be in place is....do not share blunts/joints/pipes/bongs etc, if you are sick! and...don't slobber on the pieces. Its disgusting when someone takes a hit, and hand it to you and theres a bunch of fucking saliva on the piece.

Hahahaha. Middle school blazed in the bathroom everyday out of a 2 inch glass pipe. Never got rolled. Sometime i would get the bathroom pass during class and smoke a bowl and come back. God how didnt anyone find out. I reaked of weed i thought.

It is but a distant memory for me.
I forget what it's like to sit in a classroom listening to boring instructors all day.
I was stoned most of the time back then, so none of it really mattered.
