Germinating seed question...
    #206207 - 03/16/09 07:00 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

Well, hello everyone... I found a new home yay me. My first post at my new homes is about germinating seeds. I have quite a bit of experience but am confused on this one. What i did was i took some regular seeds nothing special right... Well, i put them into a plastic cup with water in it on top of a reptile heating pad. Well, after a couple days i checked them, they were sprouting woo hoo right. Well, i let them go another day or two till the tap root is noticeable. Well, for some reason i noticed a foggy cloud in the water that surrounds the seed. Well, it was all over the water looked like something was in it and did not smell like water. Wondering if these are bad, contaminated and why it keeps happening???

This is the second time in the last two weeks this has happened. this time though i said screw it and went ahead and started to plant them and decided to ask for some info/help  thanks

well i take that back, if im starting from seed theres only one transplant, theres no need to  start a seed in a 10 gallon bucket, go from a 6 inch to the 10 gal, but for dro i use clones from a mom living happily in soil. god this shit is making me wanna talk, northern lights does that to me though.

your soil went rancid (acid ph) letting bacteria or anything germinate aswell as your seeds which then infect and eat your sprouted seeds. through something in the water to raise the ph level to alkaline and you shouldnt have a problem with the bacteria germinating.
When you transplant make sure you puddle them in so they will set the roots in faster, just get some organic or w.e. fertilizer and make a mud paste at the spot your putting the sprouted seeds into.

Just use jiffy cubes and distilled water. That fixes that.
