i bet he would, but he's got millions of dollars on the line. think of all the money in sponsorship he will lose now.
i'd sell out too.  not only can they ban him for a few years, they could try to take his medals away, something he's worked for his whole life. hell, i'm sure he'll quit swimming one of these days then he can smoke pounds all day.
sad that it can't be okay or politically correct to smoke cannabis. i was reading fans comments on his official website... comments on the news website... they are ridiculous. so many ignorant people.

As a former athlete it's time to call BS on the world anti doping charade especially in regards to cannabis. Michael Phelps and other Olympic athletes we back you, walk away, strike, call them on it. Let them lose their top athlete over this, we will support you for it. Don't apologize, do a HIGH TIMES cover story.

Michael Phelps has admitted to smoking cannabis and apologised after a picture of the record-breaking Olympian with a bong pipe was published in a British tabloid today.
The swimmer, who won eight gold medals at the Beijing Games, conceded the authenticity of the picture published by the News of the World.
“I engaged in behaviour which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I’m 23 years old and despite the successes I’ve had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again,” Phelps said in a statement.
Phelps’s career may now be tarnished beyond repair. Athletes caught using cannabis, a banned substance under rules set out by the World Anti-Doping Agency, face a ban of up to two years.

usg is rite on this issue i can see why he sold out but still i hope he loses big time in the next olympics. i hope karma gets the best of him and he gets pwned. ganja > phelps.
