 Opiate Users vs Potheads

Is it just me or are 90% of the opiate people here always being bitter and petty.
The hippyish people at least try to enjoy life, instead of making biting remarks at everyone else.
I think people with a negative world view are more drawn to opiates, and how they numb.
Numbness = Relief from external pain (possibly from others)
Getting High/Trippin = Experience everything around you at a greater intensity.
Just an observation.

surprisingly not. Anyone I hung around with who got into opiates (addiction-wise) I would drift away from.
I know plenty of cokeheads who were far more difficult to dissociate from.

well until recently i was a constant user of opiates. but i guess im just really cool, because i never seemed to gain any type of addiction, and when quitting never suffered anything remotely close to a w/d. and was certainly never bitter or sad lol

Weird. I find weed makes me feel inpired and energetic when I do a few small bowls and tired (which is good cause I'm insomno) when I smoke a heavier sesh.
And no I'm not from Cali. I'm from Canada and I eat steak whenever possible.
For the record I'm not trying to take a jab at anyone for any drug use.
I just noticed that the people on this board talking about scoring their next OC or whatever are the same ones who go out of their way to pick at other people. They play it off like the person they chewed out is soft and gets butthurt etc, but it is usually quite obvious it is themselves who have the issue.

oc80s and powdered h. i was doing around 120mgs oc, or an 50 bag of h as a dose. and id say i used one or the other 5 times a week. for a month total maybe.

I loved opiates when I didnt have the money for cocane. But in the end of the coc addiction the opiates started giving me migrains so they went too.
But Ive been a pothead all of 19yrs through it all.
And stil smoking even now.

I'm talking about a trend. More often than not what will the end result be. And what are the indicative qualities of the people at each stage.

Opiates make most people bitter in a sense. If not immediately after a period of use they will...It's just how it works.
I have met very few opiate addicts with a good temper, but there are some. Pot does exactly what you said...It makes people relax while giving some energy at the same time. It does this for me, and I love it. Opiates if I use them for a week or so I get very irritable, and if you ever met me you would know that is not my nature.
Drugs affect people differently.

Very few that I have seen. I was sent to a rehab by the court for failing a drug test of marijuana...Yes marijuana.
Anyway, it was a nice place that I stayed in for one year. There were probably 10-15-20(not sure exactly but that is close) out of 35-40 who were strictly opiate addicts.
Only about 1-2 of them were very tolerable until they sobered up some.

Just because the internet isn't 'serious business' doesnt mean that topics with substance should get trashed.

Just so u know I know people who are assholes without either and are cool on, But on the other hand the same can be said in reverse some arent assholes until they use.
So I guess its true drugs affect some diferent than others.

Granted some are born assholes the underlying theme is that everyone reacts differently to drugs and if your different than most people you will have a harder time figuring out how it will afect you. And thats why this thread has been a clusterfuck.

but in this case needle use and addiction are not obviously causal when there are many other obvious hypothesis to the correlation that seem very possible.

As I understand heroin satisfaction level is constantly pushed back.
I can be satisfied off a few bowls of heady nugs even if I'm not more blitzed than the previous time I smoked.
Sometimes it's nice to have a functional high. For hairon some people need that 'feeling' and a milder effect isn't good enough.

same man exactly, if i were you i would stick to the occasional use of percocet and opiates like that.. stay away from the hairon even tho i was only snorting it i found it was just SOO fun, cheap, conveient that my occasional usage of opiates quickly turned into an addiction. I honestly regret getting into it like i use to have a great time with the percs and OC's but once that addiction kicks in it really makes things beat.. Ther aint nothing worse the dope withdrawl and even after snorting a few bags a day for like 3-4 days in a row you will feel some withdrawal symptoms.
And opiates will make you irritable especially when you get really high on them but that dosnt mean you have to be an asshole man. They'll effect you however you let them if you dont want to be an asshole on them then dont its not like you cant help it. Just when im on them i seem to like judge what people say more and look for little things to bitch about idk why i just do sometimes; the little things irritate me more. But you defintaly dont have to worry about your personality going in the shitter just because you do opiates its not like that.
