And it taught me something. It's ALL about how fast you inhale as much smoke as possible. I've smoked bowl after bowl after bowl for years, and it can get you pretty damn high, but there's a limit to how high you can get from doing that. Last night me and my friend designed our own waterfall bong by putting a hole in the bottom of a plastic water bottle and then sticking a bowl in through the top and lighting it.
There's just no way you can compare to smoking hits that big at once. I all of a sudden understand how high you guys with roors and vaporizers must get on a daily basis.

I remember years ago smoking a bong made from a two liter. it was a gravity bong. I thought i was going to die i was so stoned. It was great! lol. But i definately know how you feel about smoking bowl after bowl for years and it only getting you to a certain place. I like to roll up a joint and go bicycle around town while smoking it. It's a lot of fun, but i digress. yes, bongs and vaps ftw!

Hmmm... I haven't smoked a gravity bong in a year or so. I may have to construct one tonight.
Anyone else ever take vapor hits out of a gravity bong?

What you made my friend is not a gravity bong....
It is a reverse gravity bong, but has basically the same concept.
Here is a little secret i'm about to teach you.
Cut off the bottom of the bottle.
Use a plastic grocery bag and tape it around the circumference of the bottom of the bottle so that the opening of the bag is facing the hole on the bottom.
Tape or glue a piece of string/floss/wire to the bottom of the bag.
Push the bag into the bottle so that there is no air inside of it.
Pack bowl.
Light. Pull String.
You have just created the same smoking device, but now you no longer have to use water!

Back In the Day (When I Was Young)...
My buddy and I created a gravity bong using a 2 gallon bucket and a 2 litre soda bottle. Found that a metal 40oz beer bottle top srcewed onto the plastic soda bottle perfectly. Poked a hole in that, and screwed the bowl off the standard metal pipe we all carried (glass wasn't around much, then).
We kinda kept this on the D/L, and wait until someone from the group (it always fluctuated a little) started talkin' shit about how big of hits they could take.
My buddy would pick out the seeds/stems from the ever-presnt Mex. Brickweed, and pack a bowl full. He'd then pull up as I would light it, and then 1 1/2 litres of thick, milky smoke would appear. The bucket was full of Ice-Water, and helped somewhat..
I'd unsrcew the lid, and then invite the "Macho" dude/chick to Take It All, baby...
Even the most seasoned smoker would hit the ground!! Without a single exception, we had it goin' on...Loved to knock 'em down a bit...
Nowdays, my lungs can't take it, and my little 8" tall bong is quite enough. Oh, yeah, I switched colors on my weed, as well...
