Well, its pretty much the same for one plant as it would be for many plants, until you start talking about setting up automated systems to make everything work more efficiently. In other words, any good grow guide works fine for learning how to grow just one plant. Search Google for "marijuana grow guide", or check the main site here for some guides in the cultivation information section.
Of course, there are ways to grow called micro grows, which would usually involve one or two plants. I'd check out the Micro Grows forum at ICMag for more information for stuff like that (for example, growing inside a computer case).
Also, I'd have to recommend that you buy feminized seeds if you are going to only be growing one or two plants at a time, because it is very risky to grow such small numbers of plants from regular seed. Basically, you could wait almost two months to find out that it is a male plant.
