 Where to get lights

Hey, this is probably a stupid question, but there's still not an abundance of posts on this site yet (search feature didn't turn up much). I was thinking of getting an hps light, but I have no idea where to go. Buying online is not an option for me, by the way. Would a gardening store have them? I'm assuming walmart would not. Also, is there any kind of common fluorescent light that I could use? I'm kind of low on cash, and this would be a lot easier to find also. I need it for the veg stage (if that matters). I heard 6500 spectrum lights, but I can't find any lights that look like they would work. So if anyone knows if fluorescent lights are available in that spectrum, please let me know.

Is there anywhere more discrete? I'm paranoid as fuck about those stores. I was just reading about people getting followed by cops, busted, etc.
If I could find some kind of fluorescent light that I could pick up from a normal store, that'd be the best for me.

if your really paranoid like that u could prolly go to lowes or something i think they carry 35 watt floros or something you could buy like 8 of them that'd grow some decent weed. then again that'd probably look just as suspicious as going to a hydro store.

I have no credit cards, or paper trails of any type. I guess I could money order some shit again, but I'd rather go to the hyrdo shop if it comes down to those two options. Yeah, 8 lights would be a lot to run. I guess I'll just go check out all of the stores around and go to a hyrdo shop as a last resort. The only one that I found is one hell of a ways away.  Oh well, thanks for the help anyways guys.

Yeah I don't even remember my old email.
I found some 6500K fluorescents, I assume that they would work. They pretty low wattage compared to hps though. They're only 40 watts. I assume it'll work, at least for a while (till I can afford better, I guess)

My jackass room mate won't listen, so he doesn't wanna throw down on an 'overpriced light that isn't any better.' So I guess I'll be paying for it by myself.
