My own personal strain. Purple Blood

She's an alright producer, not the best i've seen but the buds have a strong skunky lime smell that would knock you out with a good whiff lol. Before flowering every stem on the plant was completely dark purple. She's got erdpurt genetics and is currently being seeded with a strawberry cough male. I call this strain, Purple Blood.

Not really, i've had to recross her a lot of times with select males and have had to test out the seeds for phenotype dominance. A lot of crosses were trashed in the making but I found one male to cross that has gives her this lovely phenotype almost every time.

I don't have any buds right now for a full smoke report, but the high is a very indica based high, you can feel your throat tingling after every hit, it's the strongest purple strain i've come across. Here's a strawberry cough seeded with erdpurt, the smell on this plant is indescribable.

Could you tell us more about the selection process you went through to end up with the plant you have in the first post? How many generations have you went through, what did you look for when selecting which males to use, etc.? :smile:

Also, will you be documenting grows with this strain in this thread, or more towards showcasing the strain itself? I can move it over to the Strains forum if you're leaning more towards the latter with this. :wink:

Keep this thread here since I will be updating it as the plants grow more. I'll have a full thread on my strains in the strain forum sometime.

About my genetics/

I have a friend in Europe who is a breeder and was kind enough to throw me a 20 year old original Erdpurt clone. The first thing I did was study characteristics of the phenotype in it's vegetative and flowering process so I could pick a suitable male. A few things I noticed was the stems on the plant would turn dark red or purple once the plant starts to preflower. Another was it's big indica leaves yet it's tendancy to stretch and get a little lanky. Over the course of a couple of years I found a couple males to cross with it, all showing similar phenotype characteristics except the stem colouring. After testing out the seeds of each strain, one of the crosses was far more stable than all the others, and gave purple buds with pink hairs and a purple/red stem over 50% of the time. Abracadbra.

The girls are doing really good, we have been getting tons of rain and it seems like the girls are really mould resistant, no spots as of yet. Here are some pictures in the rain for you guys to stare at.

Thanks for the compliment bud. While creating this strain, I was simply looking for a colourful plant that would pack a lot of resin.

Here are some updates!

Had to cut a tip off the Purple Blood plant because of mould :frown: Haven't seen any since.

Honestly that is one of the nicer purple plant's I've seen. I love how distinct the purple is from the green. Like some exotic animal.
