Just got my seeds in from the Gorilla a week ago. I germinated 3 of them and they are sprouted amd looking good so far.
I have two more seeds not germinated and plan on saving them for a future grow.
what is the proper way to store seeds safely for future germination. Also how long can they last? Thanks guys!

you might find better answers but mine is put them where ever the temperature fluctuation is least. (might be the fridge) but you don't want your beans 20 in the winter and 100 in the summer especially not for extended amounts of years.

You want to convince them that they are in "stasis". You don't want to harm any moisture inside, which also means freezing is out - for the long term. My opinion is you want to keep seeds like you'd keep wine. Cool, dry, and out of light, and they'll last a damn long time, years even. What I have had luck with is getting either prescription bottles, or even better, a literal wine bottle. Leave the bottle in the sunlight for a few days after rinsing it thoroughly to drive ALL the moisture out. Drop the seeds in, seal it with the cork, and put it on a dark shelf in the basement. 55 F would be ideal. They'd last for years locked up like that IF the bottle is 100% dry. Pill bottle works for smaller loads, but is not as airtight as the cork in "sealing time in a bottle" biologically speaking.

I'm not sure the best place to store them long term, although its probably someplace dry and consistantly cool, but I've seen people put 3-5 grains of rice in individual seed baggies.

I store my seeds in a mason jar in the back corner of my fridge. I wrapped the mason jar w/ black duct tape. Just make sure whatever storage container you choose is light proof and air tight.

I got a shitty batch of outdoor smoke like 4-5 yrs ago.... kept a couple hundred seeds in a jar in a box in my closet. i planted a bunch last summer for the fuck of it... i didn't think any would sprout .... prob 20% of em popped up tho
kinda cool that they would survive that long and still pop up

I had some 15+ year old poorly stored(in a ziplock in a warm cubby space) seeds that gemrinated maybe 50%+, but at 20+ years they didn't germinate at all. It may vary from strain to strain.
