This my first time growing indoors from some bagseed. I grew 7 plants out and only kept the strongest female. It is now growing in soil under 5 x 23 Watt 2700K CFLs. It is in early flowering (12/12 for 2 weeks). I want to ditch the CFLs and flower it under a 150 watt HPS. Can I just buy a 150 Watt bulb and screw it into a socket that I have a CFL in? Do I need a ballast? I have fans that I can use for ventilation so heat will not be a problem. Sorry if this question sounds silly but I'm new to this. Thanks for reading.
When using HPS or MH you have to have a ballast. I seriously doubt that HID bulbs will fit in CFL sockets, but I'm not about to try. Anyhow, yes. Gotta have a ballast.
