Poppies? Man I think my buddy sent me some muffin seeds. He swore they were active but I can't get them shits to germ. Another poaster recommended I freeze them over night first..!?

Poppy seeds do not need to be cold stratified contrary to what people think/say. I have germinated poppy seeds from muffins before and they grew just fine 
I'm going to do a poppy grow log here soon

Ahhh, hmm okay, well what should I do with my finnicky seeds then? I was told to just put them straight into a large container of mostly sandy soil ?

Yes,and keep them moist. It's easier just to sow them directly in the ground where you intend to grow them though. Yours could have baked on the muffins though, and may be no good. I know The ones I did were added after the muffins were cooled, or I assume that they wouldn't have grown.
