Outdoor grow * 2
    #849052 - 08/26/21 07:39 PM (2 years, 7 months ago)

Banned myself from shroomery for a month so thought I'd get my fix here :awehigh:
I started these seeds that I found in flower I for from the dispensary(either wedding cake, gelato, lemon cake, or face mints)
The left one I didnt mess with and the right one I topped.

UPDATE

I pollinated the 2 big ones.....well tried to anyway.....as soon as the first sack opened on one of the males I had from dispo seed, ANYWAY I tried pollinating the lower branches of both plants and out of all of them only one branch pollinated and I only got 4 seeds....which I lost the 1st one on the ground in the grass trying to pick it as they are clearly ready....ugggghhh...anyway here is pics...(the seeds came out DARK. I've never seen such dark seeds come from weed that wasn't old school mexican brick weed :/ )

I couldn't wait either, so I harvested one of my plants early.  It turned out pretty fluffy.  Don't be me!

The other plants that I let go, all developed bud rot.  I think I'm done with outdoor growing...

I'd really like to try outdoor growing again now that I'm out in a very dry climate.

I'd only be able to grow fast-finishing varieties, it goes from 95-105F days in the summer to frosty nights by late September/early October.

My living room has 15-20ft ceilings, I bet I could get a hell of tree going with some supplemental lighting during the winter  :trees:

It was always a challenge for me to find strains that finished in time around here, so this year I resorted to autos.  I think I would have been alright if I had a greenhouse to keep the rain off of them.

Growing a tree in your living room sounds like fun.  You can decorate it and put nicely wrapped gifts under the foliage during the holidays :cookiemonster:

So I looked at my mag landrace leaves closer and they are not deformed 1 fingers they are just duck foot....if I would have paid more attention during veg I would have made clones :frown:.....is it still possible to clone a flowering plant and then revert it back to veg?

Yes, look up monster cropping.  You will want to take more clones than usual, as the success rate is normally a bit lower.  The sooner you do it the better your chances.

On the other hand, taking clones from outdoor plants is a great way to bring bugs into your indoor garden.  I wouldn't attempt it unless you can quarantine the clones while you clean them up.

I found 2 more seeds in a lower branch I cut off cos the buds were small and not worth the plants precious energy, now I can try out a small indoor grow AND have good genetics to work with next season :yess:

Nobody should be hurting for good genetics in this day and age.  Plenty of people are willing to send you their testers in exchange for grow reports, if you know who to ask.  I recently saw on another forum someone was giving seeds to any newbies who didn't have anything good to grow.  The homegrown cannabis community can be very generous.

I bet you could even find someone to trade you seeds for spores! :raphael:

How's that indoor grow coming along, have you decided on a grow method yet?

Update

Here is a frosty shot of the tall girl I just took. I have not checked the mag yet as I am barefoot and don't feel like putting on shoes as I love the feeling of earth under my feet :awehigh:

Edit: here is what I used:

Nutrients: Dihydrogen Oxide

Lighting: the sun

I can't see the trichomes up close to check their color, so I wouldn't know if she's ready for harvest.

I suggest a jeweler's loupe or a $20 pocket microscope and check the trichome colors.

I have one ordered....however I noticed some sort of small silky web on one of the tops so I cut it off, checked the rest, and just harvested. In a few spots it looked like there were amber trichomes to the naked eye so I called it. (Plus I don't want to risk the whole plant getting infested)

Edit: the tall lady smells like a creamy tropical fruit which is weird cos I didn't buy any tropical fruit smelling bud at the dispensary lol

:rasta: awesome thread spirit, nice work as always.
I'm thinking about doing my first outdoor in '22, got some 9lb hammer seedlings going from a buddy of a buddy on Shroomery.
Everything in my garden except my cannabis did really well this summer. Combination of issues for the cannabis.
As long as the delta 8 disty keeps flowing I guess my garden can go slow for a while.  :yesnod:

FUCK.  I'm a little irritated because the plant that I topped still has at least 5 to 7 days to go before I would consider it ready. It's been raining for 2 days now and i just go out there and one of the main branches was touching the ground. I walk over and the motherfucker is snapped in half from its own weight :notsureif: so I cut it and am going to trim and dry it I suppose and leave the rest of it to finish up. I'm still in the process of harvesting the giant girl ugh it's gonna be a long rest of the day....

Edit: on wow I haven't really paid any attention at all to the topped one so I never even really smelled it until now....I am almost certain it is Greenline OG strain, mmmmmm.

So the first branches I trimmed are pretty much ready for jarring now and the others will be ready in 1 and 2 days to be jarred. The smell is getting better by the day. Even my compact structure bud is light and fluffy which makes me bet that the dispo use plant hormones to get that ungodly compact structure :notsureif: (I prefer 100% naturally grown cannabis) like dispo shit is almost NEVER sticky. Have you all thought about that? My shit is that STICKY ICKY :ancientaliens:

Update

Some of the buds have been curing for a while now and they are starting to taste fucking DANK. also best case scenario with my breeding. I got a lot of seeds and ONLY where I painted the pollen on just a few lower branches and only like 3 buds each branch. Now I can get the dispos genetics on the street. I'm about to give a lot of them away to local growers :excellent:

Holy shit the one that smelled like creamy pineapples while growing now tastes like miracle alien cookies....one of my favorite strains from my dispos, and I got a few seeds from it(like 5) :chong:

Edit: the tube full of seeds was from my lime forward plant. (I used the same male to pollinate both. I think it was either gelato or wedding cake male I got from seed from dispo eigth)

Just an update on the cure. It's so fucking good now. It slaps harder than 1940's male actors. The dispos in my state sell weed that is way too dry which diminishes the taste. I just had taste by taste comparison and flavor wise mine blows the dispo out of the water and it lasts longer in the pipe as well.

I used to think people were batshit when they claimed my homegrown was better than the Colorado dispo bud, until I visited Colorado and tried it. You're exactly right on the bud being too dry, it's always crackley and grinds into a weird powder (which really fucks with keef quality coming out of the grinder screens).

I also don't enjoy the high from dispo bud. It's nice enough, but it's not that comfortable warm blanket that I used to get from my Medibud grows.
