I think most people use LEDs now and they are very expensive. Does anyone know of a new wave Grow Bible for this homie?

I think the units cost a lot but they produce way more light per watt and they don't put off as much heat as an HID light. Ask in cultivation.

Sunshine hit the nail on the head. People buy LED because they use less watts to produce more light, thus saving you money on electricity and bulb changes. It takes several years for these savings to be worth it, as the lights themselves are expensive.
You get what you pay for with LEDs. If you only want to spend $100 on a blurple "1000w" amazon LED, don't be surprised when it only pulls 100 watts.
HID still has a place, mainly for colder climate growers who struggle to keep their temperatures up. The lights provide waste heat, and also IR, which heats the leaves a few degrees. This allows you to run a slightly cooler room temperature than you could with LED lighting.

So yes I know about the search engine and how to use them effectively, But I'm just wondering if there is like a noob sub forum on this site where it's OK to just ask basic questions.
