Dehydrated Fruit

is really expensive, but really tasty.  Just picked up some banana and strawberry chips at the market.  Anyone else dig on the water free fruits?  I always bring a fuck ton with me when i go hiking, tastes great and gives you a nice little boost of energy for those long climbs.

Indeed, I've dehydrated my own fruits (both kinds;)) for a while now.

Makes for excellent healthy snacks.

they are great....dried mango chips are super tasty...:grin:
i find most a bit too sweet sometimes though.

I like the cracker dry strawberries, like the ones you find in cereal, but I don't like the partially dried ones. Too sticky.

I love that shit. I used to go hiking at least once a month and we would always make our own trail mix. Soooo good.

same here. except my dad owned all the guns, my grandfather died really young in life.

Same here, never been big on hunting, but I did a lot of it with my dad in my younger years. Whitetail, turkey, etc.

Went to Alaska a few years back, spent a week up there fishing and sight-seeing. Also a beautiful place.

yah, alaska is one of the places i must visit when i die.  I want to go see the bus that the guy from into the wild died by.  Before my best friend died we had plans to hike the ADT to calie and hitch up to the alaska border.  We wanted to do the hike like he did, nothing but a 20 lb bag of rice and a .22 rifle.

heh, yah, now that it has no other use for a year, that's a pretty good idea.  The jerky will have to wait though, maybe i'll go snag a buck or two in the fall and make some venison jerky.
