Shit was awesome. Me and the misses shaped our first bonzai trees from store-bought junipers.
I'll try to get some pictures loaded later.

That's pretty rad! I've always wanted to try my hand at it, but didn't know where to start.
I've never liked much anime but Jet on Cowboy Bebop always made it looks so cool.

I was literally looking at ordering a juniper tree.
Crazy coincidence.
-Edit-
Is there like specific things you go for? I know the one I was looking at had directions for shaping. I guess Juniper are good for beginners, and is why I was looking at them.

Yea they were junipers, and there was a method for defoliating the trunk and parts of the main branches, choosing the correct branches to keep, deciding what to do with the branches you don't want to keep, wiring, shaping, and re-potting.
I also included a pic of a 50+ year old maple imported from japan. It was about 16-18 inches tall. There were a ton of amazing trees all over the property, I'll have to see if the wife took any good pics.

First marriage, then bonzai classes, what's next... matching tracksuits?

You need at least 3 to match for the entire week and not smell like B.O. barf...and I already have 4 matching sets.
Get on my level drawde, we're signing up for a quilting class on the 28th, and I better see you there!

I'm not sure I ever will be bud. I'll just have to remain looking ever upward, gawking in fascination and awe.

On the extras for Karate kid they have a bonsai section where they interview one of the "most renowned" bonsai growers and he has ones inherited that are estimated at 5 and 600 years old. He explains how if you train them right and feed/water correctly they live forever. I'll see if I can find a youtube link.
