Them walls

I have two rooms that I want to turn into grow spots spots but my concern is pests for the plants due to being in a basement and then also from having concrete blocks from the walls. Would it be best to put a layer of plaster due to the inability to mold and whatnot or do you think it would be fine as is, I'm starting up my first grow and don't want to have problems with pests if I can avoid it early on.

Sorry I found out there is a paint I could use that makes as a good base over the blocks then I should put a metallic like sheeting to reflect light right?

The more reflective material you have in your room, the better.  So to answer your question, YES add as much reflective material as possible!

White paint will work just as well if you can't find any mylar.
