Police: 3-year-old brings marijuana to school at Head Start in Fayette County Charges to be filed against girl's mother, state police in Uniontown say - see source for video
UNIONTOWN, Pa. —State police say a 3-year-old girl brought five baggies of marijuana to school Tuesday in North Union Township, Fayette County.
The child handed a bag to her teacher at Head Start on Coolspring Street and asked the teacher to hold it, Trooper Stefani Lucas said. At that point, her coat was searched and the rest of the drugs were found.
The investigating trooper on the case is preparing a complaint to charge the girl's mother with recklessly endangering another person, Lucas said, but the woman has told police that she does not know where the marijuana came from.
Police say they will not identify the mother publicly until the charge is filed.
The office of Fayette County Children & Youth Services has been notified of the incident, Lucas said.
