Dude I loved Ride the lightning, Master of Puppets, Justice for all, Black, and a few songs from albums after that, but damn, they are bleeding the well dry. Plus it was so sickening to watch lars and james sit around and talk about their "feelings".
I hate to admit it, but I feel the same way about Cannibal Corpse. Fuck you can only play so fast until it just becomes noise. Just pointless man. I love me some Chris Barnes Cannibal, and early Corpsegrinder, but KILL was the end for me.

I didn't grow up on metal. My mom listened to Motown and my dad listened to country (haggard and twitty shit). I discovered metal at age 10.lol.
Pantera is and always will be in the top 3 for me. I cant even look at a picture of dimebag without tearing up. Watch it go.
Metallica came along later after I started playing music. Shit just all sounded the same. Kinda like ACDC. Love ACDC,but after awhile you have heard all their shit and it gets old.

The thread goes where the thread goes haha. I come from the perspective why would you ever listen to metallica when there's perfectly good megadeth available. But I'm not big on metal generally. I like grindcore and the first rounds of black metal but anything less aggressive than that's just a wee to Luke warm for my blood.

Ahh, I see what you did there....brought it back around, huh.
I prefer Mustaine over Hetfield, but honestly I'm more of a SLAYER!!!!! and Pantera kind of guy. Reggae and rastafari are in my heart, but man Metal is what got me into music in general.
My all Time favorite is Type O Negative. Not so fast, fucking heavy, and I love the guys in the band. I met them a couple of times and their humor has always been my style.
Black metal is the shit, you know I'm good with black metal. Burzum, Darkthrone, and Mayhem. I stick with the better known ones, haven't ventured out past them. Doubt they are black metal, but I love old cradle of filth. Dusk and her embrace was a classic album.
And I still Fucking Love The Great Southern Trendkill.
