 Pot size question

I am 35 days into my first grow my plants around doing great 6-8in tall. The ladies are in 2gal pots right now and I watered today and noticed that on all four pots I can see roots poking though the drain holes. I transplanted my seedlings from Solo cups into 2gal pots about 2 weeks ago. My grow space is relatively small 3' x 3' x 3'. What are my options for pot size to get into the flower stage without getting root bound. I might be able to go to a five gallon pots/buckets, but that might be pushin it. I am concerned about getting root bound so early into veg and not having room for flowering. Any help would be great thanks

Just because roots are poking out, doesn't mean it's getting root bound. And the whole root bound plant thing is so fucking overblown to begin with. If the roots on my plants haven't taken over the entire container, I'm doing something wrong.
How many plants do you have? You have 9 sqft to work with here. Also, keep in mind once you flower the plants with double triple in size.

I have four plants and I am planning to go into flower in the next couple of weeks. Since this was my first go I hedged my bets and germed four seeds and all four took off thanks to your help in the beginning. Now they all seem to be doing great. All of the girls (I hope) are in two gallon pots and I hope that those pots will take me to the end of flowering. I have just started in with nutrients I am using Fox Farm big bloom the bottle says to use every other feeding should I be following their recommendations or should I be using every watering? Thanks for your partisan your help has been much needed and very appreciated.

How big of a light are you running? If you have a thousand watter in there, I would upgrade to 5 gallon pots.

Hawk is right on. Roots are meant to explore like Christopher Columbus, far and wide. Doesn't mean that Spain is out of real estate. You could stay in the 2 gallons until the bitter end under 400w and not compromise your yield as long as you prevent salt buildup, which is much more likely to cause problems in a smallish pot than being root bound. Flush at all the fox farm recommended intervals, follow your schedule,keep things clean, and you'll be ok.
It's like fish: smaller tanks reward attentive care because the chemistry is more sensitive, but allow the caretaker more control over the environment. Larger tanks are for lazy dentists who could give a shit what's swimming in there, and rely on chemicals and buffers too much.
