I saw a thread over on shroomery and it reminded me of the games I used to play as a kid. I came to find out that they have made like 3-4 more generations of the games
I ended up downloading a gameboy emulator and playing through the original Pokemon Blue. It really brought back some memories
started playing Silver and I must say it's pretty crazy how the series evolves.... I will probably finish Silver within a week or two and start playing Emerald
Anyways, anyone else ever play these old school games or am I just a huge faggot?

You must be just slightly older than me, because I grew out of the pokemon series pretty quickly and never got past the original Red,Blue, Yellow generation... I played with the cards a little bit but stopped playing before Silver and Gold came out
Oh well. It's something to do late at night and it's been a fun little trip down memory lane.

Arcades and Ataris were my time only thing that comes close is I had Magic The Gathering I barely played. I always enjoyed dropping funtabs at arcades..

I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks about it...I love goddamn pokemon. I have bought the new handheld every generation to play the new game. I slept on the 3DS for a while, because Pokemon Black/White really disappointed me, but I eventually bought one. X and Y are fucking amazing. Seriously, I haven't enjoyed a Pokemon game that much since I got red way back when.
Ruby was probably my favorite. I have them all (I collect games). Its really rad, because if you have the equipment, you can transfer your Pokemon from all the way back on Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald up to the new X and Y! I have Pokemon I caught when I was like 13 because I kept my games :]

I am at that final battle on Silver where the dude has nothing but lvl 74+ pokemon. shit is fucking impossible
I started Emerald and that shit is pretty awesome as you said, but I stopped playing until I finish Silver

Never got into Pokemon, guess I was too old but I love the old school RPG's it copied. I played the shit out of some Final Fantasy 1,2, and 3 (USA) and the Dragon Warriors on NES/SNES.

I was 7 in 1997, I had been playing video games for a long time but Pokemon was my first RPG. I fucking love them now, I pretty much owe my lifelong gaming addiction to Pokemon and PS1.
Still hoping to work in the gaming industry some day, when I grow the fuck up.

I was playing The Old Republic when it first got released a couple years ago. Maybe my favorite computer game to ever come out. Game was fucking badass. My shitty laptop just cant handle it or I would get it again. I got a cheapo

I was really into Pokemon when Red/Blue was around...I remember when Gold/Silver first came out...but then quickly lost interest. I played the card game for awhile...but that was about it. I still have my original gameboy that I played Red, Metroid, and Kirby on.
