3D Printed Guns.

Where do you stand on this; does it change your stance on gun freedom? Does it change your stance on technological/internet/intellectual property restrictions/laws.

It definitely made me aware that it's a lot easier to make a gun than previously thought. I also didn't know that the lower receiver was the only serialized part of the gun. Found it pretty informative as a whole, and the reporter at least tries to be unbiased; but asked the begged questions.

lmao, i was just talking with my wife and saying b4 i saw this about what would be next if they banned our guns, that pplzs would figure out a way to make their own, but i would not have thought of this, i will def show  her when she wakes up. ]
very cool, amazing and so forth is thechnology...

but, i already have a mini 14 and a 9mm pistol, went to the gunshop to see about ammo and saw sighns upsaying ammo is only sold w/ a purchase of a firearm, and one box only.. i was theirin  november and they had a full inventory, last week, no guns  on the  walls, only 2-3 pistols in each case comapred  to november when all the walls were filled and pistols on top of pistols in the cases..
cant find brass either around and i hear homeland defence has boughten moar of the ammo,

Yeah I don't know it's tough to say really. With new products and methods stemming from recent technological advances, it makes it really hard to properly regulate. Most of our laws, systems, policies, acts etc used in regulating new technology is the combination of various legislation that has been put in to effect at different times through history to address specific issues of the relative time and place. At it's best it could be considered a makeshift and temporary solution, only being used while a more relevant and capable framework was developed.

Our current regulatory system was designed to face the issues we have *been* facing, and therefore by design unable issues that will inevitably arise as we continue to switch over to new technologies. Technologies that were not used, and sometimes not even created or invented at the time that the legislation in place to regulate it was written.

Obviously that is going to lead to regulatory oversights, as recently witnessed in APHIS's decision not to regulate Scott's Kentucky Bluegrass or in GE developers transition to using plants to transfer traits instead of the bacteria or virus's (pest plant attributes) to get around EPA's regulatory authority over pest plants.

I realize a lot of this doesn't tie in to the 3d guns, but unfortunately I'm not super informed about that and the best way I could relate to it was through genetically engineered plants and crops. I think it still proves the same point, that our country's legislation isn't keeping up with the changes in technology.

I'm not foolish or smart enough to propose my own plan of action that can adequately regulate new technologies or the issues that result from them. However I do think it's clear that we need to think about the idea of creating a new framework of legislation that is more apt to handle our countries developing issues.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

well i mean, they're more usuable than I would expect a guy working with around 3 people and semireliable funding could do.

They can make a lower receiver that can fire at least 20 rounds I think was their number.
