Switching to Linux... which Linux version is most compatable with Windows programs and files?
    #66016 - 06/25/08 05:10 PM (15 years, 9 months ago)

Want to switch, but I want to keep all my files and most of my programs. Need it to be compatible, good looking and stable.

Compatible with what?

You cannot run Windows programs in Linux without using WINE.

i dont recommend you change to linux without at least a goo understanding of unix/linux command shell, a good knowledge of the x11 system and know what open source software is a good substitute for your former windows program.
