Multiple issues help!
    #654902 - 01/13/13 03:21 PM (4 years, 10 months ago)

This is my second grow (attempt). I got a BlueBerry, 2 honey b, skunk and a bagseed girl I flowered from seed. The soil is ffof, but I had a low budget on this so I've only been using tiger bloom ( ran out of big bloom) and liquid karma. At first I thought they were loosing leafs because its week 6 of flowering but the top leafs are yellowing too now.

Temps are 60 - 80. Watering when the top half inch is dry.

Nitrogen deficiency.  At this late stage of the game though your about to flush anyways, so I wouldn't worry about it.  We see this a lot in flowering, were boosting P and K levels and lowering the N level, so it's not really a big deal.  Maybe next time add a little more grow so it doesn't get quite as severe.

But I think they look great man.  Start the flush and don't worry.

Thanks!
And here's the thing, except the blueberry and maybe bagseed these are not 8 week strains. The honey b is supposed to be 10-12 weeks (BTW I messed up, it's been 7 weeks of flowering) but it does look ripe and the trichs are 75% cloudy. And then today they both poped out another layer of white hairs lol really basically overnight. So idk what to do.

If you say they're ready for flushing, I'm flushing. But let me know if some of the pics are unclear.

If you're in week 6, you can either start now and do it for 2 weeks, which is what I do, or wait a week aned do it for 1.

Gotcha. Well I just watered them this morning so ill flush when they dry up.
I was just worried that they won't be done in 8 weeks since they are sativa dominant

They look great man. A little deficiency like hawk said at the end is normal, especially nitrogen.

That's great to hear man, thanks!

I did put a lot of love(time) in it this time.

I got a different problem with the skunk now, looks like mag/cal imbalance but I'm not sure. Got some bud porn too :rasta:

Do you have anything with trace elements or are they just getting NPK?

What kind of ventilation do you have? It's not heat stress, but maybe some ozone damage?

How is it spreading and how fast? Did it start just on your old leaves and staying there or is it spreading to new ones?

And one more thing, do you know the pH of your soil, water you are using, and the runoff water after you water?

Also, this is my personal preference I let my pots go almost completely dry, while it doesn't really look like over watering it does have some of the characteristics to some degree, but that would be my last guess at this point.

Also, you are right those sativas have a little longer than your indicas, but those indicas are swelling up nicely and getting close.

I like to incorporate a 3 part system in mine so that I have the micro nutrients and I use them every(it depends really on the plant) but around every 3rd watering roughly. These are the ones I have been using the last 2 years:

Cal-Mag may help your situation, but answer those questions if you would for me and I will give you what I would do anyway.

i add cal-mag every other feeding (about once in 2 weeks) and liquid karma. also i used super-thrive once, but flushed since.

240cfm exhaust fan set to half power with a small carbon filter and light proof intake slowing it down. im guessing about 80cfm in the end. oh and another fan moving the air around durring  lights on.

3 days ago there was no sign of it so yeah, fast. As fr as I see its starting  at the bottom and effecting fan leafs most. This plant actually still had its 3-bladed leaf set before this lol.

well i use pH drops, so what i can tell you for sure is everything  that goes in is  6.5. last time i checked the runoff it was 6-6.5 for most of them but that was a while ago.

Yeah i wait untill the top half inch is dry and the pot is light. If anything I underwater; sometimes the bottom leafs are droopy by the time i water them.

theres 1 indica in there though. the 2 in the back are Honey B - sativa dom hybrids (supposedly). The bagseed might be indica except the leafs are long and thin...but its so small it doesnt matter. it was just reeeaally good bud with 1 perfect mature seed in a qt oz. had to do it lol. looks like 5-7g, which is fine considering it never seen more then 12 hours of light a day.

I'm going to get someone else in here to confirm what I am about to say or tell me I'm retarded......

What type of water are you using? If you are using tap water do you let it sit out for 24 hours before using it? That can cause a mess of problems because of the chlorine and other bullshit in there. The soil may have buildup in the soil from the use of it if you have been using it, but you did flush maybe that will correct the problem. If that is the problem the flush should wash out the toxic buildups of the salts if the problem is indeed nutrient lockup from the buildup of shit in there.

Mn deficiency possibly, but I see more Iron deficiency.

Possible pH fluctuations, but its hard to say without knowing the pH of your soil but your runoff seems fine so that seems unlikely but possible. Have you added any lime to your soil on top or either mix it before using it? That helps a lot with pH fluctuation.

Another thing, have you checked those leaves good for possible bugs underneath the leaves, but that's probably my least one I would expect to be the problem from the pictures.

I want to say Iron deficiency man, its really hard to say because they are quite healthy and its just on those 1-2 leaves and its just starting, but if I had to guess at this point I would put my money on Iron deficiency.

I would flush 1-2 times and then next time feed them half strength and see what they look like, I bet it will stop the problem.

Keep me up to date on how things are looking and spreading because like I said at this point its a tough call because its so early. I will get another person in here, or maybe hawk will chime back in and give his opinion.

Iron is one of the very few micro elements in cal/mag. The one i have at least.  I added it recently to the skunk. This is why i thought cal/mag dis-balance, i might have added too much and blocked 1 of them, but iron is blocked by (i believe) calcium? there is none in my nute mix and no  lime, btw.

Tap water, maybe. But, i mean they all get watered the same, and i haven't seen this before.

No bugs.

I was only gonna feed that skunk 3 more times, considering it takes 12 weeks to flower. I guess a flush would be ok? BTW its not slowing down. I  picked up the light just yesterday cause the top nug was touching the reflector and today it ws touching again. an inch at least.

Yea I wouldn't either honestly, unless it just spreads like crazy, these things happen near the end of flowering sometimes. But since you asked and based on the information I would say its some sort of nutrient lockup possibly from buildup and it looks like iron deficiency to me.

I would flush like I said and Hawk said and carry on, you will be fine.

Next time a good 3-part system or at least add a micro nutrient in there that keeps my plants looking beautiful. Micro nutrients are responsible for production of chlorophyll along with carrying essential nutrients, among other things.

You got to make mistakes to learn. But really, they look great and as close to being done as they are I may not even flush depending on how I was feeling .

But since you asked I would say a good flush and start back with half strength and let them ride. The buds are ripening nicely and that is the primary focus of plant growth at this point in your grow.

Keep us updated.

Ok!

The honey b's are sucking up all the nutes from the leafs, but the blueberry is still all bushy. The problem with the skunk stopped, but now there's burnt tips

Well it dries up quicker then the others (the pot is only 3/4 full of soil) so I water more often.
Actually, because of that the BB got her last feeding before the others, so she should be ahead.

Maybe a LITTLE early, but overall you will be happy with it.

As far as the other plants, I would continue what you are doing and finish them. I would say its a pH issue causing some other problems BUT VERY MINOR problems.

You will be happy with the harvest, like we said at the end of flowering deficiencies are a common thing. Its nothing serious and seems to be doing nothing to your bud growth.

Is the Skunk picking up any? Some take longer than others to fill out.
