Are new consoles coming out this Christmas or what? Would buying a ps3 this many years after the release be a mistake or are these still new for the next couple years?

they've got another year or two. e3 is next month so if anything new was coming out it'll be announced then.
even so it'll be next year at the earliest in Japan and another year to get here.
you can get a ps3 real cheap now days and they're worth every penny. there's a huge log of games you could get used too.
I say go for it, but maybe wait until e3 just in case.

i stopped buying consoles after ps2. especially since Blockbuster went out of business and i have, pretty much, no way of trying out new games before buying them. sure, there's Redbox and all those faux Netflix companies, but fuck that, i have a Demonoid account.

There were only a couple games that peaked my interest that I couldn't just get for PC, honestly.
And the ones that I did want to get were mainly just fighting games that my friends already have.

consoles are good for sports games mostly imo
other than that, as long as you have a strong gaming machines, computers can handle games even better. Plus I like the controls
I bought a new xbox360 slim and played Madden 12 on it for about 3 weeks straight, then some COD and I was ready to get rid of it.

Honestly, i see no need for them. Xbox just came out with kinect not too long ago, nintendo and playstation are still banging to the same shit too.

See, I want Playstation Move pretty bad (there are some move exclusive games I'm missing out on) but I can't bring myself to pay $80 for another addition to my PS3 when I know a new system will incorporate any of that shit into it.
I personally don't care for the motion control shit at all, but it looks like that is the direction its getting taken.
The sixaxis stuff in some games just pisses me off. There should at least be an option to disable it and use the controls.
