there is a real small cowpond next to a tree line. Since it's more convenient than lugging water from the creek, I was wondering if its ok to use. I know the creek water has high iron and sulfur from what i hear. But the pond doesnt get circulated like the creek. Any suggestions?

you really don't know what type of run-off is pooling in it. I would just stick to the creek, or even use your tap water, if you're not on a well (well water can be hard)

personally i'd stick with the creek. flowing water would be a better choice than stagnant pond water.
