roots and light...

I know light is the enemy of roots. how much light? are white buckets ok to use? I have a whole bunch of 5 gallon cat litter buckets I've saved up for outdoor this year. is say it let's less light through than a white bucket, but still a little bit.
I guess I could spray paint the outside black but it seems a little unneeded.
I know less light is prolly better but I'm wondering if any of you use white buckets without problems?

Yeah you can use them without problems. I'd still paint them black, but it isn't necessary.

Like Hawk said you can use them and in some situations they are even better then black ones. I'm one of those cases this year. I'm in the Palm Springs area this summer cause they have lots of clubs and no growers selling to them so it's been a money fest so far. Anyway in the heat out here black pots are root fryers cause the black pots pull in way more heat from the sunlight.
If you're really not wanting any light to hit the roots line the buckets with foil.

man i hear ya there!
last yr (before i was legal) i picked up my clones with a friends suv. they completely filled the back of his jeep and were slightly bent over from hitting the roof of it...that alone stressed me out enough .......but when i got to my plot i noticed that the jeeps registration had expired

maybe they started as clones haha. I just put my first girl out. I'm a month early and hoping she might just live. she was a clone from a mom I cut like 10clones from. I needed room so it was either cut it down or put it out and hope. godspeed.
