Water: RO or RO/DI?

I'm going to go with filtered water for a hydro setup, I already use RO/DI for my saltwater fish tank, so I'm already familiar with it.

Is RO/DI better to use for growing, or is RO only preferred? And why?

Im assuming di stands for de-ionized. Well, not sure on that one but I can't imagine it being bad if its used for very sensitive fish.
