I don't have a PC that will run it so I'm not that excited. I'm seriously considering buying one though because of this game and Diablo 3.

I guess there is already a leaked copy of it out on the internet.

I like the console version better. I just don't like missing out on the mods, though they were talking about getting them out for the console.

Skyrim comes out in 7 days.

Really excited about Boarderlands 2.  That's one of those sequels that could either be better than the first or suck shit.

I'm getting it on PS3 then neglecting my computer for a solid month. I'll probably end up sitting in a blacked out room with some drebeats on playing it on the big LCD. I just fucking wish PS3 games came in 1080

I've wanted a ps3 for the longest time now but I figure why bother.  Back in the days of the NES and SNES I remember your two choices were NES or Sega.  I had the NES where some of my buds had sega but the difference was that they had different games.  Nowadays anything released for one port is released for all of them.  Why bother playing a game on PS3 when I can play that same one on the xbox I already have.

I could never stand what they did with the R2 and L2 buttons.  They turned them into these weird awkward bumpers.  Anybody have a PS3?  Do you like it?

I usually play as a human/archer/thief
I don't know how that will work out for fighting dragons but we'll see

I also really like the non human races this time around so I might end up mixing it up a little

I like it. It feels a lot more like New Vegas than it does Oblivion. I love that it's difficult. I have it on very easy and still take a good bit of time killing giants and mammoths. It's just annoying that I haven't found any guilds or anything yet. I've heard people speaking of the legion, but haven't found a way to join. I've also murdered a few people to get the dark brotherhood to contact me, but they haven't yet. I love it though, I can't wait to get my copy. I'm currently using my brother's until I get paid on Monday.

Just loaded my 'try-it-before-you-buy-it' copy of Skyrim....

It is indeed, pretty damn good... Classic elder scrolls.

Also, for anyone worried about running it,  On Low settings it looks like Oblivion and will run on almost any machine less than 3 years old IMHO

I about shit myself when I realized I was traveling across skyrim with a werewolf (we got ambushed, I was stuck behind an iron gate, he killed them all before releasing me).

I ran into a pretty damn annoying glitch, doesn't let me complete the third stormcloak quest pretty much. Only keep 1 save because I like playing it "one decisions, no take backs" style of gameplay with TES. But now my level 17 Orc save is completely useless in my quest to destroy the tyrannical puppet state that is the empire.....

Time to restart my Orc Warrior I guess.

Holy fuck. I didn't think I'd like it, but I was so wrong.

I hated Fallout and Oblivion, but everyone was telling me how great this game was...and it really is. I don't have that feeling of being lost at all like I did in those other games. This is really, really good :bigyesnod:

Characters so far: Orc Smith/Heavy Armor/Enchanter/Restoration/Mace+Shield user. I think of him as an Orc Paladin. Just a warning the game crashes if you just stand their getting attacked for to long. I was trying to level my Armor, Blocking, and restoration skills all by just standing their and healing. Game froze after about 6 minutes, and it's done it about 3 times so far. He is sided with the storm-cloaks because to him it's death before dishonor, and even if the dominion can conquer the empire after skyrim gains its freedom the inevitable rebellions will eventually make the dominion not want to keep the lands.

I'm also playing an imperial wizard/cunning bastard who smooth talks, sneaks, and when the previous two don't works fireballs problems away. I need to find some good enchantments for my shoes/gloves/ring/amulet though. I have like no armor at all, and it gets to be an issue. (Sided with the empire).

Third character is a Dark Elf Spell-sword. Destruction spells, light armor, sword and shield style character. Pretty fun. Got to level 5 by power leveling smithing right away. (Sided with the empire).

Khajit, archery, sneak, pick lock, pickpocket, i'm level 22 right now, I haven't started main quest... The thieve's guild's quests are really nice in this game, can't wait to see the dark brotherhood :awehigh:

I'm really confused because I'm not used to games like this, so I'm going real slow.

I'm an Orc, and I use axes and magic (fire).

Im lvl 24 now, i'm well into the main quest so far, not dwelling into the larger dungeons yet, its pretty interesting  I find all the shouts, spells and everything a little complicated, but very funny to play around with while you roam Skyrim, it's funny how many stories and playfull beings that wander around.
Although I still want the game to seem more real for some reason, but I guess thats just me overdreamin :b

I play an Shinobi, is what I like to call it, a dark one.
I focus on a mix of heavy armor, one hands, sneak, block, marksmanship and a little lockpicking as the game moves on.
This enables me to sneak through dungeons and thieve houses, doing onehit kills, easy money and a dark reputation through assassinations, there are some pretty trippy shades in this game.
And the heavyarmor with block/onehand makes sure I can withstand any confrontation with a big pile of otherworldy zombies, just need a henchman with ya to help the tanking, a henchman is always reccomended, you get a great one for tanking through the main quest very early.

I loved the dark brotherhood quests, I got sooo scared while playing it xD but it was really interesting, now im on some sorta infinite story murdering loop, dunno where ill take it but its good money for now.

I find this game very funny and very frustrating :b I WANT TO JUMP ON TOP OF THOSE DRAGONS AND STAB THEM IN THEIR BRAINS, BREATH FIRE THROUGH THEIR NOSTRILLS AND EAT THEIR WOMB AS I DEVOUR THEIR SOULS.

There is not enough trippy effects but I like ^^

it's near windhelm, and if you have done the main quest near the first dragon burial mound. it's inside an orc stronghold. I'm not sure how easy it is for a non-orc to get in but they let me straight in the gate because i'm an orc. I ended up with 27 peices of ore. Now... Does anyone know where to buy deadra hearts?

i read that the enemies didnt scale to your level.

that is wrong.

with my light armor skill of 21 i am getting my ass fucking handed to me. by like, bandits. no lie.

i dont want to start over again, any suggestions? right now im just walking around the world to new locations. fighting wild life (not the bears though they fuck me up) to get my armor class up. helpppp lol

Try to find an armor trainer I guess, or like ... dunno man try to level some other skills like pickpocket & lockpicking, which are both really easy to level, so you can boost your armor a bit

I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

i cant buy anything i have like 50 gold. i literally havent done any missions. have just been leveling. first mission i tried to do i realized i fucked up.

i wasnt even wearing a helmet (had no equipment) and all my other armor was bunk besides a set of scale armor that i got somehow.

so yeah hoping to get my armor class up.

figuring out what to use my 13 saved up perks on.

Lol ya I had a buddy tell me that about the enemies scaling, or I prolly would have been in the same position as you

If you want to do light armor, I'm pretty sure the dark brotherhood dudes will have a teaching thing for that.

Where'd you power level your 2 handed? I want to do that because my armor is up enough that I'm alright to.

when you enter an area the enemies will scale to on or about your level
but they stay at that level even if you leave and return

but I'm sure there are ways to reset the level cap for enemies
maybe if you gain enough levels or a certain amount of time passes

its weird sometimes the enemies seem to scale and sometimes they wont. my one handed is up so high some times i will go to an area where i one hit kill everything.

its cool though my armor is to where i dont die in one hit anymore. and i went through the cave you learn your first shout at

I just did that quest line where you go to jail in a mine and have to escape. I'm leveling super slow because I keep doing quest lines without much fighting in them

I think I'll go back to the main quest line soon. I wish you got like 3 perks per level instead of just one.

I think some creatures are just set more powerful than others.  I have gone in to giant camps and killed one giant with 5 hits and then a second giant comes up to me and with one hit sends me bouncing to where I am looking down at the mountains.  If you haven't been bounced by a giant yet, try it.  It is actually kind of cool.

Smithing helps me level.  Making leather goods helps to raise the smithing skill.  I am in the high 70s right now and making leather bracers (1 leather, 2 strips) still works well to raise the smithing skill.  You can get plenty of hides from the wildlife in Skyrim and turn it in to leather.  Really no need to buy anything and all those leather bracers add to sales to raise speech skill.

I am so happy with Skyrim.  My only complaint is that I like to see character development in more detail.  I am also a traditional tabletop RPG player and enjoy the micro-detail.

Well my computer seemed to crap out on me.  Everything was going cool then suddenly it shut off and I could not reach windows, but just a blinking cursor after the bios.  Needless to say I eventually repaired enough using the command prompt off the CD boot to get into safe mode, but trying normal mode results in the BSOD with some wacky error shit.  Needless to say I am doing a clean install but I am just glad to be able to get into safe mode to back up my music.

In the process though I restored back to a previous state and lost my Skyrim save data.  Quite depressing, in a pathetic nerdy kind of way.

At least I get to make a new character.

I finished the dark brotherhood quests, also the thieve's guild's quests also, both guilds storylines are really great, just a tip for ppl, if you are planning on doing the main quest... don't turn yourself in a vampire, it makes you quite vulnerable to fire, and dragon and puke fire at your face, killing you really really fast.

Kinda disappointed in the quests so far. At least the rewards. Had I known it'd be 90% sneaky thief stuff I probably would have made my character that way. I think only ONE quest I did gave me a nice one handed sword :nonono:

It's random items I believe, because I had to load my last save after finishing a quest, and finishing it again gave me a different item, and tbh, I had mostly 2h weapons as rewards, also heavy armor or mage gear.

Mainquesting is boring atm, but im told to go into some old dwemer castle ruin thing so that should be interesting, its just hard to stock up on pots cause I killed the major shop owners... :b

Should be pretty funny though, im debating in myself wether to go witht the stormcloaks or just finish the main quest, I felt pretty bad killing so many people after the dark brotherhood quests...

I am a pure sneak/archer.

You have to have the arrow drawn in order to zoom in.  For PC, left mouse button draws arrow and thus right mouse arrow then zooms in.

Bows are fucking badass.  Especially when you have the sneak skill tree skill that gives you 3x damage for sneak attacks with bows.  Taking out entire groups of people is made easy so long as you are not spotted.

I rarely die on the master difficulty with the bow unless I get completely overwhelmed.  Usually if I get overwhelmed I just continuously back up and fire arrows.

yeah i got it now. i had picked the perk before, but i must have got killed before i saved. so the issue was me not really having the perk lol

the perk tree for archery is so good.

how far in to sneak is the 3x crit for bows? i really want that but not if i have to waste more then a few perks for it.

I think you need like... 60-70 sneak for the 3x bow attack, its like the 3rd talent in the tree, or fourth : )

Is real practical cause u go all hashishim style with your bong and your bow in front of you, bitches dont damage shit, cause they all have arrows in their foreheads.

Fuck yea.

I gotta say: If you are gonna play a pure mage, nothing beats the Altmer, that bonus magicka early on makes you are powerhouse instead of a pussy. Fuck Breton's.

If I were to go fully thief/assassin then my first choice was Khadjit because of their stealth bonus, definitely cat burglary is win :3
I just play a redguard though, for those situations where sneaking just aint possible :>

im a dark elf. but im not just sneaky archer. some times ill go one handed + spell.

did a quest for one of the deitys last night by starting to drink with some guy at the bar in whiterun. ended me up on this long ass quest and it ended with figuring out it was for the deity the whole time. got a sick ass staff that calls this really strong thing out to fight for 60 seconds. been super useful, used it twice already.

lol, I met someone in a bar too in a drinking contest, already there I felt the chills, I tracked the quest around, figuired out id been throwing garbage all over a monestary and messing up several places, raping maidens and whatnot.
Now, I got a lead leading me to some old necromancer ish place, And I just thought hell no and went on to save the world, I dont want a god damn staff as a reward for gettin my arse frozen off by a dozen of black people.

I like the amount of autosaves this game makes, it was something that was much needed in Oblivion and Fallout, especially since I always forget to save when I'm stoned.

mmmm the lust angorian maid. Good times, good times. I love khajits though, they do blow and don't give a fuck. Permanent waterbreathing for the lizard man is pretty amazing for a theif.

I found a dwarven helmet that lets me breathe underwater indefinitely which works just fine especially when finding that quill under lake honrich or whatever.

I am a proud Khadji though.  All the bandits say I will make the most pretty of rugs.

SB- the 3x sneak attack for bows takes 40 sneak skill and 3 skill points to get.  The two skills before the 3x bow are not too bad either.  I love the 15x damage perk when sneaking with daggers though.  Backstabbing instant killing makes me feel special.

My mage is level 12 so far, it is soooooo fast leveling a mage due to all the categories of spells... I think with that much game time played, my theif/assassin/chuck norris would have been like level 6 :datass:

Ooooh for fuck sake... I just deleted my mage... it was only saved with auto-saves, and I played my Khajit chuck norris, and it deleted my mage :feelsbadman:

I was like level 16 ... had finished all the goddamn mage guild quests ... which aren't that fun since you can't murder people :ninja:

I just got my smithing to 100. It was a pain in the ass but now I have some badass dragon armor...which I'll be slowly working for some of that black armor, I forget what its called.

If anyone hasn't been playing the main quest, I suggest keeping going until you get the dragonrend shout. I won't say more about it to spoil it for you, but it makes fighting dragons (especially on a mele character) about 50000000x easier.

i started with a redguard because i knew nothing about the game

when i started getting stomped later on by a pure hack and slash, i started over before i was too far in. and made a dark elf. high sneak (90) high one handed (70) and high archery (50+) and working on destruction and restoration as well.

pretty  much speaks for its self. trying to work on smithing and enchanting now so i can make some bad ass armor in a few.

I am in a pretty similar boat.  The sneak/archer/dagger combo is deadly.  I try and sneak behind the enemy to get the 15x damage bonus for sneaked dagger attacks.  If that fails, I make sure to get the 3x damage bonus for sneaked bow attacks.  The assassination animations are a nice touch as well.

Not my video, but good night frost troll.

Just got the perk where you can do some extra damage and slice heads off with two handed weapons. I can't get enough of the animation :yesnod:

Damn those frost trolls are a pain to kill. It took me, my horse, a flame atronach and a ton of destruction spells to kill just one

I followed the imperial my first time, it doesn't really make a difference besides giving you an early invite to join the Imperial army.

i thought the imperial guy was pretty nice honestly. He didn't like the fact you were not on the list, and he is in the process of saving a kid from the dragon when he starts leading you to the fort. Has anyone found any deadra yet? Do they have 'deadrix ruins'? I've seriously not found any and i've traveled half the map.

I'm sure theres a place to farm them, because my buddy has a full set of the armor. I'm waiting to get some real sick enchantments and then I'm gonna make myself a set. I have dragon armor but the other is so much cooler.

Do the Muesem Quest, you get a message either randomly or from using your dragon shout. Mehrune Dagon's shrine has 4 deadra around it, and there are ingots there too and mehrune's Razor .

Enthir at the mages college supposedly sells them, the vampire girl in the dark brotherhood supposedly sells them too. Maybe only after finishing the dark brotherhood quests.

This is what i learned from yahoo answers.

Will edit with more findings.

I am the archmage of mage guild, the guild master of thieves guild, and soon gonna start doing dark brotherhood quests.

:bender: used the speech exploit, it wasn't patched over in the patch I got last night.

My speech is at 100 now. All the bitches on they knees for ittttttttttt. :yesnod:

Also got me to level 40...its gonna be soooo tough getting to 50 I bet. Fought my first elder dragon but fucked his shit up. Also, Enthir sells them, but only after you finish (or almost finish) the thieves guild. At least thats how it worked for me.

I found gloves of extreme smithing, they raise everything up like 22%. If I can disenchant them and enchant multiple things with it, my shit will be fucking unstoppable. I'm making "(Legendary)" equips now. I'm waiting to disenchant them until I max out my enchant.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it matters what level you disenchant an item, as you gain the enchant perks you will be able to eventually raise all those enchantments above what you can find anywhere in the game world.

Yeah, that is true. But I want to save it just in case. I'm worried anything I make won't have the full 22% those do.

I guess I could save before I do it and if its not good enough just reload, but meh. Waiting until 100 isn't too big of a deal for me :tongue2:

Even if you disenchant them with 22% it will revert to whatever your skill level + perks + soul gem would make it.

At least I'm 99% sure about that.

Dunno about the werewolf, I find it weak...

But to be honest, I made a stealthy char, a mage and a 2h warrior, and I have to say that warrior is by far the hardest of the 3, I don't know about warriors with shields, but greatswords are kewl when you chop heads

Well you need dragonrend or else it sucks ass, but with dragonrend, I fucking rape dragons, like in 2-3 strikes for weak dragons, and maybe 5-6 for medium and like 10 for ancient dragons. Quite devastating

stealthy characters with a bit of magic kick ass

97 stealth, 70ish archery, 80ish one handed

45+ in all magics

90+ in smithing

50+ in enchanting

and im not even very far into the main quest. i just now met with that girl and the paranoid dude from the blades.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

I gotta run back thru on my sneaky character.

The only trophies I'm missing are

Pickpocket + Lockpick 50x (because of the pickpocket)
Return Thieves Guild
15 Daedric Artifacts (because I fucked up one quest :mad2:)

Then I platinumized that bitchhhhhhh.

I just got Tomb Raider Underworld and I have Portal 2 and Killzone 3 in the mail right now so I gotta hurry the fuck up and finish Skyrim! Then...the expansions

level 44 100 smithing, enchanting, heavy armor, and one handed. Nobody fucks with this orc. I'm still trying to buy the house in windhelm, but i don't know how to start the quest they want me to do to get it. It's annoying really.

I got 3 chars to be honest:

Khajit ninja: archery, stealth, lock pick, alchemy, pickpocket ... totally overpowered with 100 stealth, nobody can see me even when I am in front of them...

High elf mage: Destruction (100) Illusion 80, restoration ~70... overpowered as well, but more squishy

Redguard warrior: Smithing 100, Heavy armor 97, 2h weapons 93, enchanting 76... They are harder to play in my opinion, but really fun once you get fucking overpowered ... Plus what really deceived me was the dragon armor... it looks like crap... Orcish armor or Daedric looks SOOOO nice!

But to be honest, I made a stealthy char, a mage and a 2h warrior, and I have to say that warrior is by far the hardest of the 3, I don't know about warriors with shields, but greatswords are kewl when you chop heads
:awehigh:

Well since I'm playing on master, transforming into the beast has saved my butt a ton of times. Thanks to the roar ability that makes opponents run and cower in fear  Plus I love the kill animations

So far I've only made an imperial and a nord. Gonna make a dark elf soon :yesnod:

My latest char is a dark elf ninja, with 2 daggers, hes a sneaky motha fucka.
Level 33 already, leveling pick pocket in this game is ridiculous.
The x15 strike as a sneaky motha fucka is quite intense also, but I don't think it will be easy killing dragons... I skipped the main quest so far, but on adept, some fights are quite tough when you fail the chance to sneak strike it.

Check out the final perk in the sneak tree in some videos on youtube.

SO unfair lol. If I'da known about that, I prolly woulda went sneaky on my first (main) character.

I just got Killzone 3 and Portal 2 this week, so Skyrim is actually on the back burner as of right now...but I think I might call in to work tomorrow and do some skyrimmin' on my sneaky character
