So just some rough guesses would be appreciated here...
The idea is 1 300w 9u CFL in a closet with 4 plants grown from seed in pots with soil. Closet will have extractor and fresh air supply.
Nirvana papaya strain (feminised)
2 months vegging and then 2 months flowering.
How much bud, dried weight could one expect to harvest roughly from these 4 plants grown from seed?

After a lot of reading it seems 2-4 ounces is the expected yield.
I'm not sure if its worth the risk really. All the money it costs for all the kit required would buy about 4 ounces anyway. :-p

Yeah but buying 4 oz.s won't grow another 4 oz.s now will it.
It costs a little to get started, but not all that much to maintain.

Yeah true,
I'm not sure its worth the risk for me cuz im in a apartment and i'm not convinced I will be able to bud them out without getting caught because of the smell.
I'm just working out the risk to reward ratio ya know... if i had my own detached house then it would be pretty risk free and worth it but in my present situation i'm probly safer just buying it 8th at a time :p

You only have to buy the shit one time really, except soil.
You can find a 150w HPS relatively cheap, or if money is a huge issue you can always do CFLs. People have excellent results with that.
The pots, the lights, the nutes, etc. You should be able to reuse a ton of it a LOT of times. I've used the same nutes since I started and I've been going for the start of 3 seasons now I think I never had to replace my bulbs (although I prolly should). I'm probably going to have to buy nutes again in the spring, but it lasted me a long ass time.
Except the middle one of the FF trio. I bought a new one of those, but haven't really gotten into it just yet. I'll buy a gallon of that next time.

How plants would you grow from seed under a 300w 9u CFL?
4 ? 6 ?

Me? 2 or 3. I prefer to keep it 150w/plant unless they're real small and in some kind of S(CR)OG setup

Nope, but I have a buddy who is doing one right now in a 3x2 space and its dominating any single plant I've ever grown. Very seriously considering giving it a go someday, I have a perfect spot for it.
You've gotta decide asap though, because that needs to get trained right from the start.

Yeah I read the guide on here scrog & sog tek guide.
I think I understand it but gonna read it again.
Basically I should top the plant and pinch the nodes then setup a screen and seperate the arms that grow?

I've never read into it too much. I just know it involves a lot of training to bend it around the screen, so you've gotta get on it asap.
