Quote: IT’S EMERGED THAT the Department of Health is considering the introduction of cannabis-based medication.
Minster of State at the Department of Health Róisín Shortall said that the issues associated with applying controls to medicines like Sativex are being examined by the department.
Sativex is used by MS sufferers to alleviate symptoms, while it’s also used to help to alleviate cancer pain. Legislation in Ireland prohibits doctors from prescribing it.
So what do you think? Should products like this be legalised, do you think it’s a step too far, or do you think it doesn’t go far enough? Have your say…
Do you think cannabis-based medication like Sativex should be legalised?
