 Seeing college/university as the best years of you're life

Recently I read a post on the sister site and thought that seeing college or university as the best years of you're life is a pessimistic way to view things. Why not strive to make the best out of you're life as it should be? Why just settle for something you did and not for what you can do?
Maybe I'm just being idealistic because I just started uni, but why should that be the case?

I think they are the "best" in that you are the most reckless and just barely old enough to have real fun
not really the best, just the most memorable
im a chill person, I would much rather be 65 and retired and travel around all the time then have crazy parties and lots of sex and or drugs

Definitely. If your 20's are the best time in your life then you fail as a person. For me, all I look forward to is graduating, getting a career started, having a family and being financially secure. Once I am old enough to own a house and have money, those will be the years

i like to travel, and meet new people and see new things
so i need to make lots of money, because i hate working.
i went to two semesters of college, got on dat bot and flunked out. then i proceeded to ride that horse, and ended up getting arrested and sent to rehab.
so fuck those being the years of your life. i cant wait to forget them
