I got a disc in the mail and put it in my ps3 without noticing there was some kind of glue residue on it. It got stuck in there, I looked up how to manually eject it. My PS3 was reset somehow and it was in 420p or whatever it is, thankfully it reset to 720. I was scared.
But anyway, I wiped the glue off this shit and put in another disc and ejected it 3-4 times. It seemed ok. I haven't played another game tho, just put it in as a test.
Like wtf do I do if its broken? The disc came from ebay and had the glue shit on it when I got it. If my PS3 is broke, does the asshat that sent me the disc owe me a new one? Or at least a replacement disc drive from Sony?

so you did manage to get the disk out?
they make disk drive cleaners
which usually just involve running a special disk through the drive a few times
some sort of alcohol would also probably dissolve the glue without harming the electronics

Yeah, I was just kinda panicked earlier because of this.
I got the disc out, I put another disc in and out 5 - 6 times, it didn't get stuck. I tried to clean the disc with some iso and it started stripping the "art" off of the disc so I messaged the guy and asked for a refund. He said it works fine, but I'll just send it back and let him deal with it.
Already bought another copy. $3 more and its sealed and in the box still.

did it read the other disk?
chances are the glue didn't stick anything important
the disks don't come in contact with much inside
you might have some glue on the disk slot
but the only real problem that would cause is if it smears glue on a dish as it enters making it unreadable

Yup, it read the others just fine. The glue was on the top of the disc (he said it was probably a rental at a store with a label on it) so at least it didn't fuck the laser all up that reads it.
At the time I was just freaking the fuck out. I had to hold in the eject disc button and the power button. Then it reset all my video settings and it looked like shiiiiiit when I turned my PS3 back on.
I should have known from his feedback he was a shady dude. Its like 97% or something, but when I looked through, I saw that he had done some pretty feelsbadman stuff.

Yeah, I'm usually OK with ebay, but I've got hit with some stupid bullshit this last year.
1. I didn't include a tracking number with my item, and the fucker said he never got it. I know for a fact he did, he admitted he was "teaching me a lesson". Ebays policy always sides with the buyer so I ended up having to refund him and letting him have the game. Lesson learned, but what a fucking dick.
2. I had some idiot kid buy an item from me saying "sry if u c me tryn to buy ur shit idk how this wurks my cusin said i had to click by"  at least I got to relist and sell that, but at a lower price.
and now this...

I had the idea kicking around for some time now but it never looked quite right
but I was watching some comic book documentaries on netflix and worked out a few of the details
it's my largest to date though and my settings are chopping the bottom off
