My 6 inch Vortex runs on high speed all the time its running.
Damn, arn't they loud.
I built a muffer for mine. Seams to work for me.
Found it on ICmag.
When I get back in will See if I can find a link to it.
My of posted thread about it . when I built it.

I use a variator to reduce the voltage/speed.
