Will a 250w Hortilux super hps bulb work properly in the sunburst 250w light? On the box of the bulb it says to only use with ANSI S50 lamps.(have no idea what that means) However, I've seen a few websites that sell the 250w Sunburst light combined with a 250w Hortilux Super HPS bulb. Just want to make sure the bulb will run fine with this light.
Also, what is the advantage of this super HPS bulb over the standard HPS bulb? Is this bulb only for flowering or can it be used throughout the entire growth of the plant?
It should be fine. Most of the better ballasts will run just about anything meaning a hps ballast will run hps bulb. The really cheap ballasts have trouble with modified bulbs.
The super, I believe, is more in the blue spectrum compared to the typical red of an hps. It will work better as an "all season" bulb.
