Killed two of my chickens, on the first night they ever layed. I obviously underestimated how wile a fox is, the fucked jumped a 6ft wire fence, ripped one open and left it for dead. Then beheaded, and ripped off the feet and wings of the other, and I'm guessing it took the body because there wasn't anything else left

I guess so, there's no way I can catch it with my intruder bashing stick. But I'm redigging the fenceline all the way around it. Burying the corner posts 3feet deep and cementing them in, then I'm gonna dig a trench a foot deep and 3feet wide so the fence goes into the ground, then along back from the fence so even if it tries to dig under it, the fence will stop it going deeper.
I'm also buying 50meters of fuckoff sized barbed wire and I'm burying spools of the shit ontop of the fence and putting it all over the roof. Now I just need to learn how to stick a fox skin jacket

We have coyotes and bears thicker than flies around these parts.

At least that's kinda of cool, but I don't know how I would bear-proof my chicken coup. I imagine if a grizzly bear wanted into a chicken coup it would get in without too much trouble.
I'm annoyed because I wanted hardcore free range chickens that roamed the wild plains of my backyard scratching up the earth and making it awesome for my veggies, but now they are confined to a space about 8x8'

Ah, the troubles of a small farmer.
We only have black bears left around here, but I imagine they would still love to get some fresh eggs.

Yea man its hard living off the land of the inner suburbs, no minerals left in this here soil.
I wish we had bears, all of out dangerous animals are small enough to fit inside your shoe but they'll kill you in a day
