So, I've been thinking of trying this lately. I did it once before when someone mixed a shot of vodka with a scoop of wormwood extract...I don't know how it effected me because I was already drinking and smoking heavily all night. I wanna make it so thats the only thing I drink and see how it goes.

Are any of them actually close to real absinthe? Or is it just a huge waste of money and time?

It's a very nice, clean drunk feeling. I only drink about once a month, but when I do it's usually about 3 or 4 shots of absinthe or strong vodka. In a way I wouldn't even call it a drunk, more a 'high', theres fuck all other chemicals and impurities in it. I would say comparing absinthe to beer is like comparing vaporizing to smoking.
Moderation is key though, especially with something as strong as that stuff. One I usually pick up is around 70%.

I've drunk Absinthe 2 or 3 times, but I distinctly remember the first time because it was awesome. I usually drank vodka up until then, and I was used to a sort of buffering period between doing a shot and feeling it, but the first time I had a shot of Absinthe it shocked me because I felt the liquid go down my throat into my stomach and then straight up to my brain, I actually kinda had to catch my balance after it because it kicked me in the face so good.

You guys bought it and didn't make your own though 
I have to make my own because its illegal for some stupid fucking reason in the US

Yea man I was in the bottle-o the other day and saw 75% (150proof) Absinthe for sale, it was like $70. Can't believe its legal here and not there, that's gotta be a first
