Inception
    #526655 - 02/12/11 06:11 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

I hated this movie.  What made matters worse was how critically acclaimed and popular it was.  Seriously if I saw one more fucking shot of that goddamn van hitting the water in slow motion I was going to go insane.

It reminded me of that scene in The Broken(if you liked her in 300 Lena Headey gets plenty nekkid in this film) that keeps playing back the car crash in slow motion like a billion fucking times.

There were some special effects that were impressive but that alone is not reason enough to watch the movie.  It was the most illegally downloaded movie of 2010.

I can pretty much sum up the entire movie in one paragraph and save you that 2 and a half hours.

A business man hires a team of Freddy Kruegers to put an idea in another guy's head while he's asleep.  To do this they go into a dream within a dream within a dream.  This is interposed with scenes of Matrix style shootouts and unnecessarily suspenseful music.

The dream sequences are lucid as opposed to surreal.  I prefer the surreal ones.  The X-Files episode Via Negativa and David Lynch's dream sequences are good examples of well done dream sequences.

I haven't been watching movies a lot lately and just finally got around to watching it last night. I thought it was awesome. Something different for a change. I have no idea how I would have felt about the movie if I didn't have a very extensive past tripping background as my perspective though. The layering, looping, time dilation etc... was all very easy to relate. I almost never watch movies twice but this is one I think I will and probably enjoy even more the second time.

That got me. I watched it expecting a big let down. I normally don't like the movies that crash box offices with raving critics and fans. I more often prefer off beat indie style films.

I agree with a number of the points here.

I also thought it was a good story in general.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

If you wanna se this movie...Don't.
I would recommend watching the south park episode making fun of this movie. I watchedthe previews for inception about 30times on youtbe and still couldnt figure out wtf was going on ,or what the movie was even slightly about. :2cents:
Only good thing i heard was, taking acid before seeing the movie is a good idea. Havent done it myself, doubt i will, but i see the fun in that. :awecid:

It's not like some epic movie though, it's just good enough for me to be willing to watch.
