Both cultures have gone through hardships but the conquest of america < the near annihilation of an entire group of people through mass executions, gassings, malnutrition, and bizarre medical experiments. At least the native americans had a fighting chance.

They're both definitely examples of genocide, but I don't feel like the two should really be compared against each other. At least not on a scale of which was worse. Genocide is never pretty.

Certainly the holocaust is the most well known case of genocide, but far from the first or worst of them.
You learn to separate your humor from your actual line of thought. That said action can lead to changes in behavior, if you act a certain way long enough you can experience changes in behavior. So it is a slippery slope to avoid trivializing these tragedies. Yet time trivializes everything.
