Aesop Rock (with Coffee video inside!)

#524014 - 02/06/11 07:02 PM (15 years, 8 months ago)

Yeah, I definitely dig some of this guy's stuff. White dude with tight rhymes and a unique style.

"Coffee" is probably one of my favorites. Aside from Aesop's brain-rattling rapid-fire verses, and super-catchy chorus, this one is also cool because of the super-weird non-rap ending thanks to John Darnielle.

Anyone else?

I crawled down to the basement when the weather got cold. Like a lost lamb, returning to the fold; and when the outside world recedes from view, it's just a year supply of makeup, and memories of you. Nineteen-sixty-seven. Colt forty-five. Holding back the vampires, keeping me alive. There's an envelope with some cash in it out by the front door. This is what they make you take the medication for.
