when a post is made in a sub-forum it does not show on the forum index page that any new posts have been made, therefore, when using the forum index page as an indicator for new posts (which i do regularly) it is not accurate when sub-forums are concerned since they have no indicator for new posts. it would be nice for the icon on the forum index page to change to the "new post" icon even when posts are made in a sub-forum and not just when made in the parent forum.
does that make any sense or am i completely crazy?

holy shit.
that is really tiny and super subtle, i can see how i completely missed it. thanks Mike, at least now i know what to look for. maybe we can change the colour of the arrow and folder icons that show new posts in a sub-forum to something that doesn't look like the white arrow and folder that indicate no new posts

definitely something because it's super hared to distinguish the white from the pale yellow. they almost look like the same colour to me unless i look really hard.
from regular to bold would be good in combination with a colour change.

As an added benefit, it makes the sub-forums more visible on the main index.
They kind of just bleed into the background before but the red arrows definitely draw the eyes!
