Feds shutting down torrent sites

I would steer clear of public trackers for the moment, DoHS is taking IP addresses.

For the time being, until the government catches up with the past and figures out what people use them for. By then there will already be a better way to pirate shit.

The problem is the amount of traffic.  Examples are needed, but for the average pirate it's business as usual.

Man fuck America and their shit. I seriously can't stand their "Move out the way let us big American's deal with everyone" attitude. They've trying to police the internet? Please. In a few hours I'm going to download some illegal music, watch some illegal tv, and smoke my illegal bud while simultaneously graffiting fuck the police across the local bacon house. (okay not the last bit)

They're gonna try and stop me, and all the while people are dying in their borders. People are starving, people are homeless, people are broke with no where to go, and they spend their time doing this shit!? FUCK YOU AMERICA. FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FUCK YOU!

How paranoid should I really be about pirating shit? I've been doing it since Napster (well, I guess I was copying floppys before then) and I've never gotten so much as a letter from my ISP.

I download shit nonstop too. I've never bothered to hide, because I've never felt a need to.

Is it really an issue? Sure, they catch people once in a while...but those are just to scare people anyway

I'm more paranoid about posting here than I am pirating shit.

Of course it's happening inside your head.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure you can't use it unless you have a login. Like, if you download the torrent from one of those torrent search engines, you have to have an account at the site, don't you?

You used to, I'm pretty sure.

You might be confusing it with a different site, demonoid has always been public.

Anyone can grab the torrent from another site and use the demonoid tracker, I'm pretty sure.

Requiring an account on the site makes it a lot less public than say TPB, and a reletively safe place to use. Using precautions is always suggested.

The way I see it, stealing music is payback for all the CDs I bought in good faith that turned out to be garbage. Used to be there was no "try before you buy." If you were curious, you had to drop the money and find out if it was any good after the fact. Record companies used this to their advantage all the time, by having one "good" song that got popular and stuffing the rest of the album with "filler." Then while stealing from the public, they also steal from the artists who end up indebted to them for life while the executives make millions.

Stealing music will not destroy the MUSIC industry, it will destroy the RECORDING industry and that is a GOOD THING. They treat us like idiots, they deserve to be bitch slapped.
