 can some explain torrents to me?

Ok i have never downloaded movies etc dont knwo if i want to but id like some things such as rosetta stone etc what is a torrent how do i find them etc how big are the file sizes etc i have wireless card for my laptop so only have 5 gb a month to use it sucks but thinks in advance. well i can go to a wi fi spot lol so where can i get movies music etc

Get a torrent client such as utorrent.
Go to a torrent site such as mininova.org.
Download.
Try to get someone to hook you up with an invite to demonoid.

Demonoid is a pretty good site, but you need an invite to register.

Download uTorrent and install.
Go to a tracker and (this looks like a good site to find a tracker you like) search for music or video or whatever you want.
All the info you need will be on the torrents page (file size, file names, seeders, leachers) once you find the right torrent with everything you want then just download the torrent and open it in uTorrent.
You can even set it so firefox opens the file in a torrent right after you DL the torrent.
Follow this tutorial for a more detailed explanation.
