I bought that same heat mat yesterday. So far so good, but the rockwool temp is 79f now, which is a bit warm.
No way to turn down the heat. I'm just gonna stick it out and see what happens @ that temp.

You can just buy a cheap rheostat to help set the temp, if you have some way to take accurate surface temps, like a heat gun.

Also, I personally prefer Flexwatt: it's cheaper and allows the option of being set up according to particular needs

i would think u might could put something in between to insulate some and bring the temp down just a litle.

If I'm not mistaken, right around 75-80f is the ideal temp for rooting clones anyway.. I wouldn't even mess with it.

I bought one and it just caused too much trouble than what it was worth.

It would always end up getting too hot in the house and then it would cook the clones.

That was my experience with them anyways.

I wouldn't clone without one, although I do sometimes out of necessity.

Get a heating pad from the pet store, it will be much cheaper.

I use the one in the first post.  Love it.  It's made out of a nice water proof hard plastic material.  And I never have problems with it getting too hot.

EDIT: NVM looked at the dimensions again and noticed it was much larger then the one i have.
