Snapped stem on 5 foot tall plant! Help! (pics)
    #486585 - 10/09/10 11:32 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Well a few weeks ago the plant fell over and kinda snapped in half a little. I put some duct tape around the breaking spot to try and help it heal. I took it off today and it doesn't look so good, there appears to be a little mold growing on it :frown:.

So what should I do? I was thinking about maybe putting a layer of medical gauze around the stem, then putting more duct tape.

Input?

Medical tape like Micropore will allow gas exchange and give some support.  It is not as sturdy as duct tape, but if you only need a little support it might work.

I am not a cannabis grower.  I find the cannabis growers to be the most open to experimenting and sharing out of all of the different botany groups I enjoy.  I frequently use the suggestions that I find to apply to own organic gardening and food production.

That's ugly, no offense.

I like to create splints for this type of problem.  I use zip ties and popsicle sticks to create it.

At this point I would throw some fungicide on that area and not keep it wrapped.  Fungus likes warm damp areas. You want to keep it dry for it to heal.
