So, this is my first post here and I think it's appropriate that I do it in this forum. I hope you all are having a great year so far. Anyway, the reason for me being here, besides loving this community and the Shroomery, is for your help and support for me through my first indoor micro grow in about 12 years. I just found a local hydro shop that had everything I needed to get it started up and now I am just waiting on my seeds and tent to get here so I can hook everything up and get this show on the road, so to speak.

4-6 plants.. suck the air outta the hood and blow it into the scrubber..but don't use the scrubber till ya need it.if u need something to tie to.. put a piece of chicken wire under ur bags and let the weight of the bags hold it down.. it will take more wire but.,or u can but one piece of wire under the bags and lay one on top the bags letting the plants grow through.. then wire the two pieces together.. then tie to the top piece.. good luck

Welcome! Always rare to see a sponsor on their sign up day. I'm going to be real interested in this one. I've never grown in soil so i can't really help you in that regard. Nor have i ever used a carbon scrubber. Good luck!

I disagree, you're much better off pulling air through a scrubber then pushing out.

So, it won't be too much air exchange in the tent just pulling air from the tent through the hood?
Thanks for the welcome and replies, guys.
EDIT-Also, I am not using soil either, really. I am going with the soilless mix with perlite. Not sure how different it is, though, considering it is almost the same thing.

Actually it's completely different. When you grow in soil, your soil provides the nutrients for your plants to use. When you feed soil plants you feed the soil, not the plant. Soiless grows depend on you for the nutrients, if you fed nothing but water your plants would die fairly quickly.

Depends on how strong your fan is, though I don't see this being too much of a problem. If you're that worried 20-40$ can net you a variable speed controller for your fan so you can limit the speed yourself if you want.

I haven't started setting up, so either way would be just as easy, but his way does make more sense when I think about it.
EDIT--->The strains that I'm going to be working with in the next couple of runs are: Sour Bubble, Cinderella '99, Eucalyptis, Kali Mist, Lumbre, Cinde99 X Eucalyptis, Cindy99/Eucalyptis X Kali, Cinde99/Eucalyptis x Lumbre, and a Mandala Safari Mix. I'm basically working with a grab bag of strains from a breeder/grower buddy of mine. I'm pretty excited about this, because he is one of my favorite growers in my circle of friends. Not to mention one of my most solid friends in this world.

Well 3x3x6 is 54 cubic ft. That means you'll need at minimum a 110 CFM fan to vent the room properly. Using a fan rated at 160 CFM is a perfect size for your room, but keep in mind the filter you're using will reduce some of the effectiveness of your fan. I still think you'll be ok with your fan.

Thanks for the input, Coda. I'm ready for my tent to get here, so I can get things started.

So, my seeds got here today, but the tent is still en route. I'm going to go buy some CFLs to start the seeds under today. It starts today!!
I am starting with a few sour bubble and the mandala safari mix, since my buddy suggested that I use the safari mix first.
