Wow, very good video.  Very rare that I will actually watch all of a 4 and a half minute video unless it's music, but that was damn good.  Someone said something about traction.  That's a good point I think.  There might be a couple logistics to figure out here and there I think, but they've come that far with it, they've got it down to be able to do it, I have no doubt.  There's only one major problem...

It would make entirely too much sense.

They addressed that in the video.

I think this is a fantastic idea, but I have a very hard time imagining some town throwing down a couple hundred million dollars to replace all their roads with that when they could just continue to use asphalt for a fraction of the price. I really hate that economics is the sole determining factor in some of these situations, but that's the truth of it all

I could see cities like Portland, Seattle doing something like this, but it would probably be over a long period of years.

AFTER, we get out of this never ending recession.

umm actually I would say portland or seattle would be some of the last cities to do this. Solar panels are useless if you never see the sun

Yep.  It all comes down to money.  Asphalt producers would go out of business eventually.  It would have to be something that would be phased in over time.  If a business owner were to donate MONEY to the cause though, he would get a lot of business just because of that fact.  There's a lot of logistics to figure out.  However, I personally think it's worth taking the financial hit for something like this (noone would do that though, business wise) to help take care of uh, the earth.

Portland gets quite a bit of sun. Seattle may not, but there are plenty of locations solar could be used near the city. :justdontknow:

Interesting. Wonder what the chances of this actually happening any time soon though, seems unlikely but you never know.:justdontknow:
